Founded in alberta Canada in 2017, I started designing and building bikes that emphasize mobility, accessibility, functionality and modular design. Touring and everyday use where key features. The goal: to create a bike that allows anyone to cycle and experience the outdoors, tough enough for touring, powerful enough for those who need a push and modular to ensure durability adaptability and transportability.
While materializing different concepts using rapid prototyping techniques I learned about the needs of users. In the spring of 2019 Annie Tredray, a great physiotherapist at the Banff hospital who works with older adults and founded the pedal4joy program began advising me on the everyday needs of her patients. She envisions a world where cycling is accessible to everyone, even for individuals marginalized by age, illness or by physical limitations.
All the bikes are hand crafted out of aluminum. The software for controlling the pedals and rear traction motor is developed locally from scratch in C++. Painting of the bikes is done locally.
As the founder of Geminus bikes I believe that this bike will expand access to cycling . This by focusing on accessibility, stability and ease of use. Its pivoting seats give extra easy entry when needed. The rear traction motor lets you effortlessly climb any hill even when your passenger does not have the ability to contribute much. I truly hope our products can make your life better.
